DMP NEXUS Player
v0.0.1
Linux
Free. Optional. Required only if you want native DSD seek bridging on local files.
WHO IS THIS FOR
Optional means optional.
If you stream from Qobuz, Tidal, Apple Music, or use Roon, you may not need DMP NEXUS Player. The DMP ONE works fine without it. But if your music collection lives on local storage and includes DSD files, the Player adds capabilities your streaming setup doesn't have.
If your music is local.
If you stream.
YOU MIGHT NEED THIS
- Local DSD library on NAS, USB drives, or computer storage
- Want native DSD seek transitions without clicks or format switches
- Prefer a dedicated player over Roon or general-purpose apps
- Want full Audacious flexibility (plugins, customization, etc.)
YOU CAN SKIP THIS
- Music comes primarily from streaming services
- Already use Roon, Audirvana, or HQPlayer
- Don't have a local DSD collection
- Just want the DMP ONE to work as a network audio device (DMP NEXUS alone is sufficient)
THE KILLER FEATURE
Native DSD, throughout. Even when you seek.
When you seek within a DSD track, most players click, fall back to PCM, or insert silence. DMP NEXUS Player's Active DSD Bridging algorithm calculates the bridge between seek points in native DSD — making the transition mathematically continuous. No format switch. No silence. Pure DSD, throughout.
This is the engineering that justifies a dedicated player.
OPEN-SOURCE FOUNDATION
Built on Audacious.
Audacious is a mature, open-source audio player refined since 2005 by audio enthusiasts. It supports an enormous range of formats, has a flexible plugin system, and runs on Windows, Linux, and other platforms.
We took Audacious and added what we needed: native DSD512 streaming, our Active DSD Bridging plugin, and tight integration with the DMP ONE. Everything else — the playlist, the file management, the format support, the keyboard shortcuts — is the Audacious you already know.
If you've used Audacious before, DMP NEXUS Player will feel immediately familiar. If you haven't, it's a refreshingly direct player after a decade of overdesigned alternatives.
THE PLAYER
Audacious, refined for DSD.
The familiar Audacious interface, with a few additions: a DSD playback indicator, sample-rate display showing exact native rates, and the Active Bridging status during seeks.
DMP NEXUS Player on Windows. The Linux build looks the same.
